A moment in time captured by the camera’s eye is many things to many different people. 

My vision is one of comfort, an inner quenching of the spirit and peace.  I seek images that link us to these feelings and perceptions.  I feel it’s these feelings and perceptions that we don’t often access regularly in our lives.      

My perspective is simple; make every effort to capture and enjoy the beautiful nature that surrounds us.  Images can create our environment, our mood, our day.  Take a trip with me.  See what I’ve seen, where I’ve been and where I am going.  Learn and grow with me.

The beginning

I captured my first photograph in the early 80’s, while serving our country overseas.  My first camera was an Olympus OM2, 35 mm.  Everyday was a new adventure and every location a new memory.  Settings such as the brilliant gardens of the Ludwigsburg castle, the majestic presence of the Neuschwanstein castle and never-ending contrast of mountains and rolling fields near Garmisch-Partenkirchen set the stage for my love of photography. 

This was the day of negatives and prints.  The air was filled with excitement and anticipation.  Either there were prints to pick up or new locations to visit.  As it would turn out, those photos would be lost to flooding.  My memory of those times and locations, however remain vivid. 

Now in the day of digital media, hard drives and digital development tools I am ready to start fresh.  With the cameras of today, I am armed to learn, grow and share new moments in time here on IMITP.
